Republicans and Democrats Propose Student Loan Relief SolutionsWashington DC - American student loan debt topped $1.6 trillion dollars this year, surpassing credit card and auto loan debt combined. More than 45 million people hold student debt, owing an average of $35,000. 20% of current borrowers are behind in student loan payments and the Brookings Institution released data that 40% of student borrowers will default by 2023.Presidential candidates, Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) proposed student debt relief plans.

July 4: Trump campaign rally, Code Pink's Baby Trump balloon, Proud Boys start trouble

On July 4, Code Pink set up the Baby Trump and Trump on a toilet balloons as Trump turned the July 4 Mall events into a campaign rally for himself. Outside the checkpoints, MAGAts (Trump supporters) were everywhere along with Trump campaign signs and hats. Some of the Proud Boys showed up and when protesters burned a US flag the Proud Boys responded with a near-riot.

AlloutDC announces schedule for July 6 anti-Fascist mobilization

At a press conference on the 2nd of July, AllOutDC announced that on July 6 there would be a mobilization at 10AM at Pershing Sq Park, hip-hop and go-go bands there at 11:30AM, and a Block the alt-right action at 6PM. An early victory was also announced: that the Spy Museum has kicked the alt-right's "VIP event" out so the fascists must find another venue for their evening gala if they still can. Over 44 alt-right speakers will be on Freedom Plaza beginnng 11AM, guarded by over 100 Proud Boys plus MPD, Park Police, and Secret Service.
