The 26th of September was an ugly and violent day in DC. Hours after Trump announced his nomination of Amy Coney Barret to the Supreme Court, bike cops violently attacked the They/Them FTP march (3 arrests), and followed up on that with a 4th arrest on Black Lives Matter Plaza. Earlier an estimated 30,000 theocrats supporting Amy Coney Barret rallied on the Mall, and at one point burned a BLM flag.

On the 24th of September, GOP Senate "Majority" leader Mitch McConnell got a AM protest in front of his house, complete with go-go band Moechella and protesters banging pots and pans. Later that morning, some of the same protesters greeted Trump at his Supreme Court visit with a chorus of boos and chants of "vote him out!"

On the 23ed of September, huge crowds gathered as Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg's casket laid at the Supreme Court for a public viewing. Shortly before noon, activists including Casa in Action, Spaces in Action, CBD action, and FIRM action left the Supreme Court and marched to Republican Party headquarters. Demands there were simple: No nomination and no confirmation prior to the next inauguration.

On the 22nd of September, protesters held an emergency march in DC for Breonna Taylor, murdered by police in Louisville, KY. It was expected that a refusal to indict the killer cops would be declared that day, and Louisville had declared a "state of emergency." As the DC solidarity march was ending, bike cops suddenly attacked a group of departing protesters, one of whom was arrested.

On the 21st of September, Senator Lindsey Graham got a 6AM wake-up call and home demo from Sunrise Movement and ShutDownDC. His own words referencing Obama's end-of-term blocked Merrick Garland SCOTUS nomination were played in front of his house. In addition drums, noisemakers, and lights ensured this electoral alarm clock was heard.

On the 20th of September, Extinction Rebellion DC (XRDC) marched from Malcolm X Park through the 18th st restaurant area and other upscale area around Adams-Morgan and nearby. At several stops they played recorded sounds of wildfires and fired smoke flares to dramatize the West coast fires "sparked by money and greed."

On the 19th of September, a crowd estimated by Twitter posters at over 1,000 gathered at the Supreme Court to remember Ruth Bader Ginsberg-and to warn GOP Senators NOT to attempt to ram through a Trump nominee prior to the election. Elsewhere in town, the Fuck the Police march confronted wealthy white restaurant patrons about the behavior of the police they are funding.

On the 19th of September, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL)protested at the White House (and also in Denver on a larger scale) against the arrests on bogus "kidnapping" and other phony felony charges of six organizers in Denver who it is alleged organized a protest in which a police station was surrounded.

From XRDC: Rebels from Extinction Rebellion DC (XRDC) set off smoke flares and dumped ash outside CNN’s DC offices on Friday, September 18, in protest at the corporation’s appalling coverage of the wildfire crisis. YouTube LinkRebels tipped ash over CNN news presenters to highlight the outlet’s failure to tell viewers the truth about the connection between the climate crisis and the wildfires in the west. CNN mentioned climate change just five times in 49 of the segments it aired about the wildfires.

On the 18th of September, Extinction Rebellion DC showed up outside CNN's DC headquarters with a desk,a mock CNN anchor team, characters including a devil and fire spirits, and plenty of brightly colored smoke. They were there to protest CNN's near-total lack of coverage of the role of climate change in fueling the West Coast wildfires whose smoke plumes have reached Europe.

On the 10th of September, climate-change driven storms dumped about 6 inches of rain in the Rock Creek watershed in a matter of hours. Rock Creek came out of it banks, and when the waters receded, part of newly-rebuilt Beach Drive was found to have been undermined. The damaged area has been closed, as it is unknown how muchg weight the undermined area can support without collapsing.

At least four separate protests took to the streets in DC on Sat, Sep 12. There was a march for Black women, the evening Fuck the Police march, Refuse Fascism's 2nd weekly protest of Trump's expected refual to leave office, and a protest at the home of Laura Zeilinger (DC Dept of Housing Services director) over housing issues affecting Black DC residents

On Thursday, Sep 10, MPD raided the home of an activist who was arrested in the Aug 31 kettle, and gave them a 4AM deadline to turn themselves in. Other arrests also have been reported. New (Federal?) charges have reportedly replaced the originally dropped charges, reports are APO, fireworks, and "inciting to riot" being charged.

On the 4th of September, protesters descended on the Bethesda site where graves are potentially being dug up for a self-storage facility. With protesters coming, Bethesda Self Storage or their contractors sent their workers home for the day. Moses cemetery began as the spot owners of three plantations dumped the bodies of those who died at their unpaid work, and later was taken over by Macedonia Baptist Church.
