Reportback from June 15th Kavanaugh/Roberts home demos

On the 15th of June, antichoice Supreme Court "Justices" Kavanaugh and Roberts got another round of protests at their homes. As always these protests were entirely nonviolent. They have however made the far right and antiabortion movements scream so loudly as to imply a "saturation" effect, meaning that most (possibly all) of the possible effect of any form of protest is already being achieved with the mildest of tactics.

Pro-choice demonstrators march on AT&T over OAN hosting, millions donated to antichoice groups

On the 15th of June, pro-choice activists marched from the Supreme Court to a downtown office of AT&T. AT&T has been the largest single corporate donor to PACs and politicians behind abortion-banning "trigger laws" which go into effect if Roe is overturned (as is now likely). In addition, AT&T has hosted pro-Trump "One America News" on Direct TV, which is to the right even of FOX. Direct TV has been responsible for 80% of OAN's revenue.

Protesters return to Supreme Court "Justice" Alito's home hours after SCOTUS disruption

On the 13th of June, just hours after Shut Down DC's protests at the Supreme Court, protesters again returned to the home of Supreme Court "Justice" Alito. He is held in special contempt both as the author of the leaked SCOTUS draft Dobbs decision and for citing Matthew Hale in that draft. Matthew Hale was a 17th century judge who sentenced two women to death for witchcraft. Now the "witches" are back!

Shut Down DC blocks roads, shuts down area around Supreme Court

On the 13th of June, Shutdown DC launched their offensive to shut down the Supreme Court on one of the possible days the Dobbs (abortion) ruling could have been released. Results were mixed: while cops stole a truckload of alleged blockading equipment, the presence of so many protesters forced the cops to do the same job themselves, and the protesters denied them the ability to open blockades for SCOTUS traffic.

"Summer of Rage" continues: Gorsuch gets another home demo

During the May 14th "Bans Off Our Bodies" marches, the Women's March promised the Supreme Court would face a "Summer of Rage." Activists have delivered on this with a string of peaceful protests at the homes of Supreme Court "Justices," to the utter rage of the far right, FOX News, etc. On June 11, the protests once again came to the main road outside "Justice" Gorsuch's fancy private community.

Capitol Pride Reportback

On the 11th of June, the Capitol Pride march returned to DC, this time marching to the streets next to P st Beach rather than starting there. At Dupont Circle, the same "ex-Gay and "Ex-trans" fundamentalist Christians who harassed the parade last year were back, again hiding behind the cops. In a longstanding pattern, there were way too many corporate floats in the parade, though also some explicitly political contingents. At one point, PSL's contingent chanted "you say Stonewall, we say riot!" This is a reminder to the growing theocratic menace in the US that many will not peacefully submit to any recriminalization of GLBTQ lives.

On the 8th of June, anarchist news reported that the direct action pro-choice group Jane's Revenge dropped a banner over a DC road underpass.

Literal Handmaid and SCOTUS "Justice" Amy Coney Barrett gets another home demo

On the 9th of June, protesters again returned to the confy Virginia home of Supreme Court "Justice" Amy Coney Barrett. Barrett formerly held the title of "handmaid" in the People of Praise far-right religious cult. This time around, a "reporter" from FOX News showed up, behaved in an extremely unprofessional and confrontational manner, and left when nobody would talk to him.

Kavanaugh/Roberts protesters undeterred by rain, drama, heightened security

On the 8th of June, thunderstorms, heavy security, and the day's earlier drama all failed to deter peaceful protesters from showing up at the home of Supreme Court "Justice" and rapist Kavanagh and his co-conspirator "Justice" Roberts. The protesters were there to do exactly one thing: name and shame Kavanaugh and Roberts for their crimes.

"Justice" Alito displays "Freedom flag" as pro-choice activists march past his house

On the 6th of June, pro-choice activists returned to the VA home of antichoice SCOTUS "Justice" Samuel Alito. This time around, Alito had a "Freedom" flag commonly seen at far-right rallies on the flagpole outside his house, easily identifying his residence. To fly such a flag while trying to take freedom away from all women in the US is the height of hypocrisy.
