The Shortwave Report 07/27/18 Listen Globally!

Dear Radio Friend,     This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Radio Havana Cuba, Radio Deutsche-Welle, and Sputnik Radio.  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr180727.mp3        From JAPAN- Last week I aired reports on the heat wave in Japan- it is still happening and in many other parts of the world. The World Meteorological Organization is blaming climate change for the record breaking heat, drought, and forest fires, like the devastating one in Greece. South Korea is withdrawing some troops from the border with the north on a trial basis, and annual war games with the US are not being scheduled at this time. North Korea has called on the South to push the US to officially end the Korean War. Philippine President Duterte will grant greater autonomy to Muslim majority areas in the country's south.        From CUBA- The Cuban National Assembly has concluded debates on a draft constitutional reform that will be critiqued and eventually voted on by citizens in a referendum- there are many state changes including the creation of a President, Vice-President, and Prime Minister, establishment of peoples rights and mixed socialist private property.  A central province in Cuba is greatly expanding solar energy parks replacing fuel generation. Ecuadoran President Lenin Moreno is evicting Julian Assange from the embassy in London after giving him asylum for six years. Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has created a political organization called "The Movement" in Brussels intended to paralyze the European Union.        From GERMANY-  In Germany a growing number of people reject the legitimacy of the government, one group being called the Reichsburger movement. At the BRICS Summit, (that is Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) there are calls to reject all unilateralism- this while the US expands tariffs on most of its trade partners- and China increases its economic power on the African continent.        From RUSSIA- Afshin Rattansi and former MP Lembit Opik discuss the press- the current momentary truce between Israel and Gaza, the threat of being accused of anti-semitism for criticizing Israel, and how the British government applies the death penalty while not allowing the death penalty.             The latest Shortwave Report (July 27) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml  in 3 forms- (new) HIGHEST QUALITY (160kb)(33MB), broadcast quality (13MB), and quickdownload or streaming form (6MB) (28:59) Links at page bottom   (If you have access to Audioport there is a highest quality version posted up there {33MB} http://www.audioport.org/index.php?op=producer-info&uid=904&nav=&) PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml  (160kb Highest Quality) NEW ARTICLE about the Shortwave Report in the Boulder Weekly by Gavin Dahl-http://npaper-wehaa.com/boulder-weekly/2015/03/26/#?article=2478097 links for this week's edition- <  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr180727.mp3  > (33 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_07_27_18.mp3   > (13 MB) Broadcast Quality<  http://www.outfarpress.com/swr_07_27_18_24.mp3  > (6 MB) Slow Modem streamingWebsite Page- < http://www.outfarpress.com/shortwave.shtml >       ¡FurthuR!      Dan Roberts "There is no crime, absolutely none, that cannot be condoned when 'our' side commits it."--George Orwell Dan RobertsShortwave Report- www.outfarpress.comYouthSpeaksOut!- www.youthspeaksout.net
