XRDC challenges Washington Gas to a JOUST, Washington Gas forfeits w a no-show

Extinction Rebellion DC challenged Washington Gas to a joust over the future of their $5B "project pipes" in Banneker Park on the 7th of July. Washington Gas was a no-show, so contestants best described as the Green Knight vs the Gas Knight (stand-in for Washington Gas) jousted against targets for the win. Washington Gas's stand-in just could not hit their climate targets.

"Justice" Alito gets a July 4 residential protest

With all the fireworks of hate coming from the Supreme Court, some protesters decided to show up at "Justice" Alito's house. This was a well-picked target, as in the leaked draft of the Dobbs decision Alito cited 17th century jurist Matthew Hale. Hale is famous for having two women executed for witchcraft as well as originating the doctrine that rape was legal within marriage. This earned Alito the "witchburner" name.

Drenching rain can't stop huge "We the People" march against DeSantis

On the 2nd of July, a massive crowd gathered in Ft Lauderdale, FL to march against FL Governor DeSantis's vile and hateful new laws that went into effect the previous day.

St Petersburg, FL Pride a roaring success, but everyone caught a real break.

The trans march was a powerful statement from a community under siege, and the overall event was massive. It may have simply been the obstacle-strewn nature of the Bayside Drive area, but the size of the crowd and the massive traffic jams made this look like one of the big NE Prides like DC's Capitol Pride. On the other hand the much shorter march route may have concentrated the crowd.

On June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court greenlit abortion bans the GOP had been chomping at the bit for since the Roe v Wade decision Dobbs overturned. Chaos in front of the Court erupted instantly. One year later, events were held coast to coast condemning this dangerous rollback of human rights.
