SodaStream to close factory in illegal West Bank settlement

On the 30th of October, reported that Sodastream has decided to shut down their factory in the illegal West Bank settlement industrial zone of Mishor Adumim, Occupied Palestine. This is a stunning victory for the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions campaign modeled on the sucessful overthrow of Apartheid in South Africa.

The boycott was credited with sending Sodastream stocks plunging as more and more business, towns, and cities decide to boycott settlement goods produced on stolen land with stolen resources. Sodastream called this a "purely commercial decision," indicating that the boycotts are hampering distribution and costing them more money that that factory location is worth. This means the boycott has sucessfully projected economic power into a location and situation where moral persuasion is essentially useless

Sodastream remains an Israeli company but is withdrawing from the settlements according to the Bloomberg report. Too bad they aren't taking the rest of the settlement factories with them!
